Across the river, where Algiers stands with quiet strength and undeniable culture, KickN Back is a reminder that overlooked does not mean unseen. KickN Back is about more than providing sneakers and school supplies. It is about giving young people the confidence to walk into the school year feeling seen, supported, and proud of who they are. When a child receives something as simple as a new pair of sneakers or a backpack for school, it can change how they carry themselves, how they show up in the classroom, and how they see their future.
At its heart, KickN Back is about community. It brings neighbors, volunteers, organizations, and local leaders together with one shared purpose to support the next generation. In New Orleans, we understand that our culture and our strength come from looking out for one another.
KickN Back represents that spirit. It is a reminder that when a community stands behind its children, we are not only helping them start the school year prepared, we are helping them move forward with confidence, dignity, and the belief that their city believes in them.

KickN Back was created by two New Orleans creatives who believe real change begins in the community.
Chansey Augustine, founder of Channel 91 Photography/C91 Media, is a professional photographer and creative director known for documenting powerful moments across sports, culture, and civic life. Her work spans professional athletics, major podcasts, and official city events as the photographer for Mayor Helena Moreno. Dominique Smith, founder of B.L.V.D. Etiquette, launched the New Orleans streetwear brand in 2014 with a vision rooted in culture and community. Representing Believers, Leaders, Visionaries, and Dreamers, BLVD has grown into a respected movement supported by athletes, local businesses, and the city it proudly represents. Together, their mission is simple invest in the next generation and give back to New Orleans.
